My favorite Abba memory … in concert

A few hours ago, I signed up to take a quiz in anticipation of partaking in the Village Voice Summer Reading Contest. The questions are intended to test your knowledge of the artwork, rock-album and movie catalogs and current pop-cultural obsessions of the Village Voice, so while the quiz-taking won’t be the real point of the contest, I’ll be doing my part in honoring the spirit of the cause by embarrassing myself through relentless aggression on a chalkboard. Here are some of the questions I was most curious to see answered:

What Is Your Favorite Abba Memory?

The answer is: I chose “Weekend” as the first song in this box set.

Where Did My Favorite Abba Memory Come From?

In concert.

Taken Together In A Casket

This is what, one guesses, is the source of my memory of the “Gimme Gimme Gimme” song.

Shoot Me Straight

Again, in concert.

Let’s Ride

In concert.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

During a Nationals game.

Where Did My Favorite Abba Memory Come From?

During a swing and a miss in front of Abe Lincoln at a 2014 presidential inauguration.
